Description
This entry level digital hologram course will familiarise you with the workflow process and technical/aesthetic issues involved in creating and rendering computer graphic scenes for conversion into digital holograms. The course will begin by introducing you to the relevant aspects of 3D modelling, lighting and texturing in Maya necessary for the creation of a holographic scene. No previous knowledge of Maya or 3D is necessary.
As the course progresses, you will undertake many skill building exercises, online group discussions, analysis and critiques, as well as an introductory exploration to the theory of holographic space and composition. This process will allow you to understand and apply the principles you will need to prepare your 3D scenes for the holographic environment. The course will conclude with an online exhibition of the holographic simulation of everyone’s 3D scenes.
After the course has concluded you have the option to send your scene or rendered files via the internet to an international holographic company for printing to hologram hard-copy.
Independent access to requisit software and hardware is essential - See the UNSW Art & Design website for details.
