Description

Jewellery Installation and Jewellery for the Table focuses on the design of contemporary jewellery objects for installation in space and as functional objects designed for the table. This course encourages students to challenge their understanding of jewellery by engaging in a series of guided tasks that are framed and contextualised by Contemporary Jewellery and Object Practice. Students will develop a body of work in response to diverse client briefs.

This course will extend your previous examination of three-dimensional forms focusing on systems that allow for the production of objects both worn by the body and engaging with spaces. Students will work with a variety of materials, applying jewellery skills to small-scale production. Through experimentation with materials and a range of jewellery processes, students will be able to selectively expand their conceptual approach to produce a body of work. Assessment in this course includes studio research tasks and projects designed to build a portfolio to showcase the capacity to respond to a client brief design in preparation for possible futures.
