Description

This course provides a general introduction to both theoretical and practical aspects of
advanced inorganic chemistry. The principles of quantum theory are explained and then
explored to account for the electronic and geometric structure of atoms and molecules. These concepts are then expanded further to include the study of such diverse areas as solid state chemistry, transition and post transition metals and main group chemistry. The relevance of much of this chemistry to the world around us is highlighted with real examples of inorganic chemistry in action.
