Description

This course is a mandatory component of the English Honours program. It is designed to extend and refine students' analytic skills in the study of major literary works and issues in the discipline of English, as a means to consolidating and extending their understanding of the discipline and of the place of their own research within it. It is organised around three separate modules, each representing a significant field of literary study, providing students with the opportunity to undertake in-depth and focused study of a limited number of substantial texts in order to broaden their understanding of the range and diversity of literature in English. It thus provides essential support to the individual thesis project in the Honours program.
