Description

This course provides an intensive and progressive grounding in advanced aspects of video production. The techniques are equally applicable to film.

The course covers areas of script analysis, breakdown/blocking, production management/budgeting, location sound/lighting and post production pathways. The aim is to provide a complete production experience. The course takes place in the studio context, and so students are faced with making practical choices and applying the extended suite of skills taught in the course to their production practices.

While based in narrative production, the applicability of the techniques to documentary filmmaking is also demonstrated and discussed. Students completing the course will have developed their production expertise, understanding of on set protocol and ability to complete projects with a high degree of professionalism.
