Description

Contemporary Approaches examines some of the key debates in contemporary film theory and traces the development of the discipline from the 1970s to the present. It looks at the ways that cinema has been understood and debated by both film theorists and filmmakers, and introduces students to a variety of filmmaking practices including political cinemas, experimental film and video, cult film, as well as mainstream cinema. Key areas: film theory and the digital image; spectatorship; sound; “body genres.”

Note: Excluded FILM2001.
