Plan Outline

Database Systems

This major provides specialised education in all aspects of data managment, including database design, database programming and database administration.

Plan Structure

Database Systems majors in program 8508 complete the following:

Core courses

Complete the following four courses:
Advanced Database Requirement

Complete two courses from the following:
An exlusion exists between COMP9316 and COMP9321, so students can only choose one of these courses.

Secondary Core Requirement

Complete two courses from the following:
Elective Requirement

Complete four courses from those listed above, or any other COMP for which the pre-requisite has been met.

Project Option

Students may replace three of the above four elective courses with a project provided they have a Distinction average, have obtained the agreement of an academic supervisor, and apply to enrol in their final semester.
