Description

This course is attached to the Master of Arts in Interpreting and Translation Studies and is a requirement for obtaining NAATI accreditation. Students will be required to complete 75 hours of interpreting related activities. The course will give students opportunities to observe professional interpreters at work; visit and experience various settings where interpreters are required, such as courtrooms or conferences; participate in a mentoring program with practitioners; perform simulated and real life interpreting practice under supervision; acquire related professional skills such as project management skills, marketing and business skills; and participate in other related activities, such as Interpreting conferences and seminar attendance; service to the national professional association (AUSIT), resource development and participation in research projects.
