Description

This course builds on the core Writing For Media course offered in Semester 1, which teaches the fundamentals of writing for print journalism. In this course, students will learn how to write feature articles and opinion pieces. Students will develop their interview, research and writing skills for both print and online media. They will learn techniques for writing opinion pieces and news, literary and lifestyle features. This course will also cover the roles of editors and freelance writers in producing features and opinion.

Students will study the history and the contemporary social significance of the feature and opinion genres. They will critically consider key writers, texts and audiences for these genres.
