Description

The aim of this studio is to establish a knowledge base for commencing students upon which urban design sills can be developed. The studio commences with generic design studies investigating the paradigms and typologies if urban design to develop a vocabulary of urban space upon which later design studio projects can be built. This is followed by a conceptual project, which provides an initial opportunity of applying what has been learned to a specific urban setting. Note: Where enrolment numbers permit, students commencing in Session 2, or part-time students foe whom this is the concluding studio, will undertake an alternative project in a specific urban setting aimed as refining professional urban design skills.
