Description

Designing a solar cell with the highest possible efficiency requires a thorough understanding of the underlying material properties and device physics. The aim of this course is to explain the relationship between the crystal structure of Si, the material properties relevant to photovoltaic performance and the limiting factors affecting the efficiency of solar cells. This is an advanced-level subject for those with a good background in semiconductor device physics and an interest in silicon solar cells or related devices.
