Description

This subject provides students with a theoretical framework for consideration of community education for development. This subject will support a community development methodology within a Human Rights Framework. The primary focus of this subject is the appropriate methods, communication, skills required for adult learners grounded in the capabilities approach. Case studies using different sociocultural contexts will be used to highlight different aspects of education for social development. Opportunities will be provided to build understanding of, and skills in participatory research, engaging community and community consultation.
