Description

Epidemiology is the study of factors that impact on the occurrence and outcome of diseases in human populations. The course introduces the main statistical concepts, methods and models used in the design and analysis of epidemiological studies. Topics include different types of study design such as cohort and case-control studies; measures of disease occurrence and disease-exposure association; causality, confounding and interaction; methods for contingency tables; logistic regression models. Extensive use of statistical computing with R and analysis of real datasets.
